What do expensive cheese, fine wine and wastewater have in common? To the initiated, the olfactory experience can tell you a lot about the qualities of each. Unlike cheese and wine though, wastewater odors do not typically elicit feelings of decadence and affluence. They do, however, remind us of the vital role our wastewater treatment and conveyance systems play in ensuring public health and quality of life.
